Latest News » NCSNL Named LIPA Boss As Director General Of The Year

The National Civil Society Network of Liberia (NCSNL) has named LIPA Director General Professor Alex Yonly as Director General of the year 2018.

Providing an overview of the program at a brief certification and gowning ceremony held in honor of the Director General of LIPA, the Deputy Secretary General of the National Civil Society Network of Liberia Kollie Ramsy Torkpah said, their selection of Professor Yonly as Director General of the year 2018 was reached at a strategic meeting held with executives of the organization.

Mr. Torkpah said, after doing a critical analysis, they realized that Professor Yonly performed exceptionally well in driving the LIPA machinery to build the capacities of young Liberians including recent graduates of Universities and Colleges across the country.

He noted that with the impact made by LIPA under the able leadership of Professor Alex Yonly in the Liberian society, he is sure that Liberia will move forward.

Responding, LIPA’s Director General Professor Alex Yonly firstly thanked the president, his Excellency George Manneh Weah for his preferment as Director General of LIPA to assist the government in driving the pro-poor Agenda.

He also appreciated the National Civil Society Network of Liberia for the honor bestowed upon him, adding that he and his Deputies were working harder than ever to promote the image of LIPA.

Director Yonly stated that the key focus under his Administration is to decentralize the activities of LIPA, noting that the Institute has succeeded in opening a Regional Training Center on the Pipeline Road in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

“We want to thank the UNDP, Carter Center and the Swedish Agency for Peace Security and Development for collaborating with LIPA in developing more training courses that will add value to the training program at the Institute,” Honorable Yonly asserted.

In closing, the Honorable Director General further disclosed that LIPA, with the help of the government and partners, is nearing the completion of its new home situated in Domah Town, Margibi County along the Roberts Field highway.
